duende

in flamenco dancing, duende is as good as gets. according to wikipedia, duende is a concept, the spirit of evocation. it is when something is so good that it makes you cry, gives you goosebumps, or makes you smile because it has been so well-wrought and rendered that it touches something in the very deepest part of you. in the best of cases, the artist does battle with the duende, as it seizes not only the preformer but the audience as well, creating an atmosphere where art can be understood without little conscious effort.
