fall is in the air...

the seasons are changing, and, despite the cliche, you can totally feel it in the air. its actually getting chilly at night, and its getting darker earlier and earlier. its times like these when i find myself almost longing for the days that were so humid you couldn't do anything but sit and sweat. but fall is so pretty here that it totally makes up for it.

seduction

"the best way to seduce someone is by making yourself unavailable. you just have to be busy all the time and they'll be craving to see you. then you don't fuck them for the first 5 dates. let them get closer and closer but definitely don't fuck them. be disinterested. not too disinterested, they'll think they're barking up the wrong tree. but its always good to play hard to get. great perfume is really important too. everyone is a sucker for garter belts. you wear a dress and stockings and garter belts. you don't let him have you, but at some point you have to make him see you have a garter belt on. no underpants is also a big turn-on. sucking on your finger every once in awhile doesn't hurt, like in the middle of dinner. telling jokes is good. and on every date you have to say one really disarming thing. M.I.A. does clothes! check it out here:http://shop.miauk.com/category/category-13409-okley-run.

if you were at M.I.A. '08 at MoHo this past spring...you've already seen some of the stuff. rye rye and cherry's outfits were probs the prototypes.

harajuku girls...

some run of deh mill harajuky fruits:
THESE GIRLS ARE WILD: they are called "ganguru girls" and the overbleached hair, orange skin, and wild, chola-like makeup are all part of their look. the craze for the look in japan peaked around 2000, but apparently, they are still around.

the desiderata

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
i've been such a neglectful blogger momma lately...(hangs head in shame), but with this new, foolish, jam-packed schedule of mine, babycashmere has unfortch gotten put on deh back burner. but im back, and i have all sorts of fun things for you!

THIS IS THE BEST THING IVE HEARD IN AWHILE

on the new york times webpage, this popped out at me. hopefully, the title will intrigue you all as well. "On the Street, the Deciders." It is a narrated photocollage of Bill Cunningham, a NYT photog. Cunningham photographs & then elaborates on what he calls "the 4th dimension of fashion": the concept of the street as the runway. His photographs are varied and lend themselves well to the dialogue. PLEASE READ/LISTEN TO IT HERE: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2008/09/05/fashion/20080906-street/index.html. I promise you'll like it. ;)

tanks goddess its friday!

f-you all! its friday!

lolita, victim or vixen?

it seems that lately, in light of a recent crop of may-december relationships and the fact that women are now taking the reins to create their own sexual destinies, many women are looking towards nabakov's lolita, but in a different light. where she once was viewed as the victim of humbert's unscrupoulous affections, it seems that she has assumed a new identity, that of a seductress, someone who has full control of her own sexual destiny. what do you think?

Every new minute of every new day seems to vaguely improve. And I suspect that's because the alternative view- that everything is ultimately like something else and that and no one is autonomous- is probably the greater truth. The math does check out; the numbers do add up. The connections might not be hard-wired into the superstructure to the universe, but it feels like they are whenever I put money into a jukebox and everybody in the bar suddenly seems to having the same conversation. And in that last moment before I fall asleep each night, I understand Everything. The world is one interlocked machine, throbbing and pulsing as a flawless organism.
This is why I will always hate falling asleep. - Chuck Klosterman

this is what i look like in mah cubicle. just to give you an idea.

camp lovelyoke...

thats right...tonight at mexican lingo a fellow MoHo saw me from across the restaurant, and came over and started a conversation with the words, "...did you go to mount holyoke?" of course we had a nostalgiafest, and, to be honest, i still have no idea who she is. apparently, she was a senior when i was a freshman and lived on deh 1st floor of mead with mah wife. i must have left quite the impression.
it feels really really weird not to be going back to deh camp lovelyoke...everytime i check my MoHo email account, i always notice that september 4th is convocation. is anyone else having this feeling of displacement? like, for godonlyknows how many years of our lives, there was always a first day of school, and now, no first day.

tanks gods its wednesday

why not, its wednesday!
