headed south for the winter...what i wouldnt love to do...especially if by south you mean costa rica.

FELIZ DIA DE INDEPENDIA MI TIQUICIA QUERIDA!!! as everyone knows, my little country on the isthmus is embodied by lack of a standing army and a phrase "pura vida" that literally translates as "pure life." these peeps are notoriously laid-back. when, centuries ago, news trickled down through the region, when it arrived at costa rica, the ticos gave what could be a considered a collective "oh, that nice." and kept on doing what they were doing.

sooo i just found out that mah CHULETA (in engrish = porkchop) is going to be a daddy. for those of you who don't know, chuleta is, after deh guapo and marlon, the most important tico in the world for me. his sister melanie, is also one of mah nearest & dearest. but i digress. normally i am very excited about a babeh, which isn't to say that im not excited about this little costa rican niece/nephew i will have in approx 9 months, but i would be a little more excited if his girlfriend wasn't 16. ugh. its times like this where as much as i love it and love them, i just cant get out of the way of mah 1st world self. either way, a babeh is a blessing, especially if its conceived in love, and i just hope they do the best they can for it.

ahhh! so sorry. i know that i've been the worst of blogger mommies, but, when you have a plane ticket to costa rrrica to see your boo who you have not seen in a year, well, priorities get shifted. expect trip pics later, and the occasional tale here and there. needless to say, it was an AMAZING visit.

upon my return however, i am sad to note the passing of the iconic yves saint laurent, the man who throughly and thoughtfully incorporated and translated wild ideas into the wardrobe of the twentieth century woman. the fashion world has lost another one of its old masters.
